At night or a room with low light condition makes our eyes hurt and
uncomfortable when looking at the bright screen of our phone or monitor.
Thankfully Youtube app and web have implemented dark mode some time ago. Even
so, it is not recommended to watch something in a dark room as it may damage
our eyes.

Looking at the bright screen of our phone or monitor in dark is not the same
as watching a movie in the cinema. Compared to the cinema where the image is
being projected from the back of the room to a projector screen, the light
from a phone or monitor screen is directed towards our eyes.
Activating dark mode for youtube is quick and simple however if you still do

On android, tap on your profile picture at the top right of the screen.
